Heavy Equipment Mechanics
Troubleshoot and repair all types of heavy equipment and trucks. Operate equipment to diagnose problems and inspect equipment for defects. Weld and fabricate parts and equipment.

Belly Dump, Live Bottom and End Dump Truck Drivers
Operates and maintains trucks used in hauling and applying aggregates and asphalt on roads and construction sites. Requires a valid CDL-Class A and clean MVR.

Paving Superintendents and Supervisors
Supervises and coordinates the work activities of workers engaged in spreading, rolling and tamping asphalt on construction projects. Coordinates trucks, traffic control, and safety needs of project. Completes reports and ensures contract compliance.

Paving Machine Operators
Operates and maintains asphalt paving machine to spread and level paving material on highways and streets.

Paving Laborers
Operates small equipment; shovels and rakes asphalt; places string line and temporary lane markers; assists with plant moves, flagging, dumping trucks and clean up on paving machine.

Screed Operators
Operates and maintains screed on paving machine; Monitors and adjusts machine to control flow of materials according to project specifications; assists with shoveling and clean up of screed and paving machine.

Flag Persons
Controls flow of traffic through construction work zone; sets up signs, cones and barrels according to project specifications; communicates with and explains traffic delays with the public.

Loader Operators
Operates and maintains loaders used in aggregate production; maintains crusher hopper levels to achieve production specifications; maintains stockpiles and pit floor; loads trucks; assists with shoveling around crusher and maintaining crusher equipment.

Motor Grader Operators
Maintains and operates motor grader used to spread gravel base or shouldering material, shape and finish slopes and shoulders. May be designated finish blade operator.

Dozer Operators
Operates and maintains dozer to mine aggregate materials; push up stockpiles including sand, recycled milled materials, and aggregates. Operates dozer to clear and grub work sites, cut grades and slopes. May be designated finish dozer operator.

Backhoe Operators
Operates and maintains backhoe to excavate or move dirt, rock, sand and other minerals. May operate mining machinery, such as a crusher.

Transportation Supervisor
Dispatches company drivers and contract drivers to best ensure efficient equipment movement and compliance with DOT regulations.  The transportation supervisor will also manage and interface with contractors assuring the consistent and timely flow of paperwork for contract settlement.

Grading Superintendents and Supervisors
Supervises and coordinates the work activities of workers engaged in excavating and grading right-of-way for construction projects, such as highways, streets, and drainage ditches.  Directs work crews engaged in operating vehicles and machines to dump, scrape and spread dirt.
